One night we dried Chloe's hair straight after a bath and it was amazing how long it looked, so we took a picture.. I'm not sure why, but I think she was sticking her tongue out or something. :)

So as for what we've been up to -- we went to Alex's 14th birthday party on Friday night... Chloe & Maya enjoyed playing with their 2nd cousin Ava the whole night... They had a house full of people over for the party and then early Saturday morning Chris' Mom took Alex to emergency care cuz he had a high fever and was feeling awful - it turned out he had the flu - and it was the strain of the virus that is prevented with the flu shot. What bad timing - with EVERYONE being exposed to it on Friday night!! So we are staying away from their house for a while.. heh. None of us here got a flu shot... we keep taking our vitamins and hoping for God to keep us healthy!
On Saturday morning we were greatly looking forward to our trip to Monkey Jump - and it turned out that all the friends who were going to join us could no longer come - because of sickness & such - so we were bummed about that, but hoped to have fun anyhow! We got there, waited for the doors to open at noon, and then learned that a private b-day party was happening and it was going to be closed! Chloe cried like it was the end of the world and no matter what we said, it wasn't going to stop the tears. I was mad, too, so that didn't help. :( We told her we'd go home & call some of her friends and hope that they could come with us on Monday - and she said okay and stopped crying finally. We then went to Gino's pizza (Chris' favorite) for their lunch buffet and since there's a fun little local bookstore next door, we let the girls pick out a new little puppy stuffed animal there - making the disappointment of the morning drift away - and then we had delicious pizza, cinnamon breadsticks, and even got to try gelato for the first time! So it all turned out okay.
Today Jonah & Ryan were finally getting over their sicknesses and could meet us at Monkey Jump! It was nice it turned out this way in the end, so they could come, too, afterall! It was much fun for all the kids. . . Sarah and I couldn't believe how brave the kids were! Chloe went down this MASSIVE slide once, and then she would climb up and then climb back down instead of sliding down. At least she tried it, though! Maya amazingly went down it multiple times by herself (parents aren't allowed to climb on these things - so it's interesting - when your child is a million feet in the air and stretching out their arms to you crying "Mommy!!!" as they become scared to death, and there's nothing you can do but encouraged them to come down the slide!) Yes, a bit stressful! This slide is even more intimidating I think in real life!
There was plenty of equipment that was more their size (one was named "toddler town").
This was fun, too.. throwing balls everywhere BUT in the baskets - Sarah and I got a work-out chasing them. Yes, the kids had SO much fun. :)
Jonah going down the big slide - amazingly there was an even BIGGER slide - which Jonah also got to go down because he was just a few inches taller than the rest of the kids and he got to go on the bigger things - that was crazy!

Chloe telling Ryan to come down the little toddler slide...

This was the 'medium' sized slide which was a hit with all of them...

For some reason they all wanted to go down the little slide head first, which was not exactly the way you were supposed to according to the rules posted. :) But hey, no one got kicked out of Monkey Jump. hehe.

Well, it is certainly my bed time now... Hope you've enjoyed hearing about our fun few days!
