Finding time to write...

Can you tell my life has been pretty hectic lately? Seems like I haven’t written in ages! So, going back to last weekend… Chris got the swing-set together on Saturday - it took him all day - would’ve went much faster had someone helped him I’m sure. He still has to finish part of it and right now it just had a slide and a toddler swing. Chloe points at the swing and says “Whee” when she wants to ride in it because that’s the noise we make when we push her back & forth. hehe. She loves the slide, too and lately she puts her feet down to stop, when she’s just half-way down it, and then she stands up and wants to walk down the rest of the way and then jump off at the very bottom! She is really into jumping lately, ever since she learned how. It makes me nervous! I found her jumping off the couch onto the floor yesterday over & over again after I kept hearing something go “thud” while I was doing the dishes! She’s a little jumping bean lately.

Anyhow, Sunday morning was Maya’s baptism! All our family was there and it was a nice service. Chris held Chloe and I held Maya... and Chloe was very well-behaved and Maya was fine until the Pastor poured the water over her head! She didn’t like that and started to make crying noises, but once he patted her head dry, she was okay. (I was so nervous she was going to start a crying fit!) And then the Pastor takes her from me and holds her little bottom in his hand and holds her up in the air, turning her around to face the congregation, and then he parades her around for everyone to see and announces that Maya is the newest member of God’s family - and that is the part that gets me every time a baby is baptized.. It’s so sweet & such a beautiful moment.. Everyone looks at your child and says “awww” and claps… (Even Chloe clapped - it was cute..) So then everyone came to our house afterward and we had a wonderful meal and we had TONS of left-over’s. It was fun… (And soon I will post some pictures!)

Monday was a rough day for me - Chloe wouldn’t take a good nap - after a half hour of napping, Maya woke up screaming for no apparent reason, but it woke up Chloe, who then refused to go back to sleep. UGH. It made for a long day. Tuesday was better because my friend Erin came over to hang-out with us. She is a teacher and so in the summer time she has lots of free time and can spend a day with us here & there… So that’s nice! We had some nice girl bonding time while Chloe and Maya napped. And then in the evening my sister and her husband came over and they were entertained by silly little Chloe, and then we went to the good ice cream place up the road and got ice cream. Chloe had to eat a little of each of ours! Chloe even tried to say the word’s “ice cream” - it was cute! She is getting better with her words lately. She says “ain” for rain and she will even say “all gone” (without pronouncing the ‘N’ though) when we run out of something. hehe. Oh, and she is also finally getting another tooth! She has had the 3 front bottom teeth forever, but now she’s finally getting the 4th tooth in front! Most children have the front teeth at a very early age, but not Chloe. She has 4 on top in the front, and 3 on the bottom (soon to be 4) and then two molars on the top and 2 molars on the bottom. She’s a late bloomer when it comes to her teeth.

Well, anyhow, I guess that’s all for now… Hopefully this evening I can find time to post some pictures of the swing-set and from Maya’s baptism!
