Well, we finally did it... we went OUT to dinner as a family - yep, just the 4 of us. We have never attempted it before - to save ourselves the stress and the possible embarassment that can come when taking 2 littles one to a restaurant. Can you believe this is the 1st time we've eaten out JUST the 4 of us? So yes, we went to Bob Evans, cuz I signed Maya up for the b-day club a while back, so this week in the mail we got a free coupon for a kid's meal, and we also had some gift cards for Bob Evans from Christmas - so we all ended up eating for free! We were amazed at how our dinner went. Chris and I both got to eat our meals hot and Chloe was perfectly behaved - she even said Thank You to the hostess who gave her a booster seat and then said Thank You to the waitress who gave her her smiley face fries. haha. It was an all new world for Maya so she was content for most of the meal, as well. Chris & I were both surprised at how well the outing went and we think we may even do it again!
In other news - we think Maya still may have a milk allergy. When your children turn 1 - according to the Dr. you're allowed to give them whole milk instead of formula. So we introduced Maya to milk last week - sort of gradually - adding it to her formula and she was drinking it just fine. But she was going through spurts of not eating much food and she was incredibly fussy & whiny and we couldn't figure out why. We assumed it was just teething. Well, we decided to stop giving her the Vitamin D milk and go back to complete formula and she is a different child! She is not as fussy and her appetite is completely back to normal and she's eating tons of baby food again. So luckily she has her 1 year appt. on Tuesday so I'll be able to ask the Dr. about the possible milk allergy still existing and what we're supposed to do. We were looking forward to giving her milk from now on - saving us about $12 a week on formula... But perhaps not yet...
So the next thing on our agenda is Maya's "b-day party #2" which is happening at Chris' grandparents house on Sunday at 11:30 (which means we have to miss Church.) Since his aunts & uncles & cousins all get together every Sunday anyway, we figured we'd just meet up with them over there, too, and just provide the food and b-day cake for everyone. So that is nice, at least we don't have to worry about hosting the party!
And then on Monday night is when the Bible study starts which my sister invited me to... I am sooo excited for that! I have to go to the Christian bookstore on Sunday and get the book for it. I can't wait to have some 'me' time and 'God' time which rarely happens in my world.
So Chris has had a stressful evening - after coming home from dinner tonight - the toilet got all jammed up and then overflowed - that is the absolute WORST! And when getting some cleaning supplies out from under the kitchen sink, he found a puddle of water, which means the sink is still leaking around the faucet area (he thought he fixed it last week). So, poor guy, he just wants a break from the stress of everyday life.. and the problems continue to pile up.
Well, it's bed time now so I'm off to tuck Chloe in bed, once she finishes her bedtime snack of cheerios & milk. Have a good weekend...
