It's been a busy few days

It's Sunday night here. Friday night we had a fun little evening with our friends from Church and their little boy, Noah.... We ate pizza, chocolate cake and the kids had fun playing together and Chloe was so excited she forgot to go potty on the potty chair and made it to the bathroom in time to potty all over the bathroom floor & rug! Oh well.

Saturday morning Chris had to go run work errands and so I packed up the girls and we went to the Dollar Store - I was looking for stationary for the printer for Chloe's birthday party invitations - yes I'm WAY ahead of myself - and I think I even forgot to mention that last weekend we went to Party America and let Chloe pick out her 3rd birthday party 'theme'! We're having a "Curious George" party which will be lots of fun! Anyway, we got some cute stationary which I let Chloe pick out and I also got her some fun bubbles (hey - only $1) and then we went to the local market place and got some cheap lunch meat & cheeses since we invited my mom & step-Dad and sister & her husband over for dinner that night - just because. So we had a challenge there - Maya was getting cranky, the deli part of the market was packed and we had to wait & wait for our meat & cheese to be sliced... but we made it, and then went to the bank... got the girls suckers... etc, etc.... and came home! What a morning!

Then we had lunch & then naps, except I skipped mine to clean house and watch Chris tear apart our bathroom. The little leak has turned into a major renovation project - even though we just re-did 90% of our bathroom just last year!!! We discovered a leak stemming from the toilet a few days ago so to get to the soure of the problem, Chris removed the toilet, the sink, the vanity, and started ripping all the floor up we had just put down! And then he discovered LOTS of layers of wet floor, all the way down to the original floorboards! WHAT a mess - and stinky, too! UGH. So that was a HUGE project and a noisy one, but amazingly, despite the pounding and Chris aggresively ripping up floor for hours on end, I got both girls asleep and they even took REAL good naps! That amazed me.

So finally by dinner time my amazing husband had re-installed cement boards to start re-building our floor, and then he put a brand new toilet in (which works wonderfully - thank God!!) and then he put the sink & vanity back in all in time for my family to come over for dinner - which was good, so we'd have somewhere to potty! haha. It was A LOT of work though, and poor Chris has been taking vicodin every so many hours since - he pulled every muscle in both arms, he says. UGH. He is very sore.

Anyway, while all this was going on & the girls were sleeping, l also made an applesauce spice cake with cream cheese frosting for our little family get-together that night... (it turned out quite yummy!) And we had a nice little evening and the weather was just beautiful and we played outside...and Chris got a haircut thanks to my Mom and boy, what a day!! So much happened! But it was fun...

So today is Sunday - we went to Church & then drove all over the world to find a new tub/shower enclosure cuz we're going to completely renovate the rest of the bathroom which we didn't do last year - and we want to put a new tub/shower walls in before we install a new tile floor so everything is done all at once! So on Monday - Chris' big "day off"- he will be ripping out our old shower and installing the new one. We're both nervous about it - you never know what you'll find when you start ripping things out and looking behind walls! And everything the last homeowners did in this house, they did horribly wrong, so it's a worrisome thing to try & fix their 'work'! Pray for us on Monday!

Tonight we had a little birthday party at Chris' parents for his Dad's birthday and Maya is SUPER cranky lately so it was tiring trying to keep her 'happy'! ugh.

The latest thing with Maya is she likes to feed herself with a fork - while of course standing on a chair at the dining room table like a big girl and she loves strawberries & banana's cut up... so here are some pictures of her... I also put little barrettes in her hair for the first time & they stayed in for quite a while. :) My little girl is not seeming so little anymore... Awww....

She is SO patient and precise when it comes to stabbing the food with her fork and putting it in her mouth..it amazes me.

Where's Maya?? Well, I looked for her & found her sitting on the table holding her baby doll while we were getting ready for Church this morning. :)Chris captured this moment I guess while I was busy doing my hair for Church... so cute.. hehe.
